Some Classic Rock á la Cream    Some Classic Rock á la Cream     Some Classic Rock á la Cream    Some Classic Rock á la Cream

I know I gonna give away my age for sure by posting these pics for you, but since I was never really trying to hide the fact that I am 54 years young, who cares??? lol

In 1967, when I was in the eighth grade, I went to see Cream
-- that would be the world's best guitar player, either living or dead, the great Eric Clapton;
the inimitable Jack Bruce on bass;
and the one-and-only, incomparable Ginger Baker on drums --
when they were on their first U.S. Tour.
Of all places, they were playing in New Jersey, at Union Catholic High School --
underneath the basketball hoop in the gymnasium!
My friend, Ben Black -- whom I just happened to have the world's worst high school crush on! lol
-- and I sat in the bleachers to the left of the stage,
while my good gf, Lynn, rushed up the middle aisle to snap these pics!

Cream was absolutely incredible! How blessed I must have been for that to be my first rock concert?!?

Surely, it was a totally unforgettable night -- only one of many great times and fantastic things that were happening during my Hippie years.

The memorable events were just one of the many elements that made the Hippie Era both the best and the most completely incredible experience it came to be in my life. Certainly it had to be a combination of things -- happenings and events, fashions and styles. Two years later, during the Summer of Love in 1969,
my gf Lynn's body was found at the edge of the river,
underneath the Raritan Bridge on the Parkway. She was naked and wrapped in truck tire chains.
Her body was so badly decomposed that she was only able to be identified by her dental records.
She had been brutally raped and murdered at the tender age of 17.
It was the first tragic loss of my life.
She was a wonderful young lady and a great best buddy.
Needless to say, a dirty old dog doesn't deserve to die like that,
no less such a treasured friend and precious person like Lynn was...

So, it is with lotsa love, much deep affection, and many fantastic, funny memories,
that I dedicate all of the classic rock music on my website to Lynn Balabanow.
Baby, this one's for you!
Now go get me a sturgeon! lol hahahaha

Love and Kisses,
Leslie
